“Automotive Academy Styria (AAS)“ was set up and implemented as a platform for industry-specific training, independently of car manufacturers. At the forefront of its activities lie areas such as automotive technology, automotive business as well as all peripheral areas of knowledge, on which the economic success of ACstyria partner companies is based. In addition, AAS ensures optimum networking and co-ordination of existing automotive learning opportunities for all qualification levels. A comprehensive learning opportunity with the highest level of flexibility and transparency is offered, which corresponds to all areas of activity, business types and hierarchy levels. Customised courses and the comprehensive “state of the art“ training programme thus ensure a considerable increase of domestic added value, and also establish Styria as a training centre. With regard to the individual AAS services, in addition to the latest training and development programmes, it also offers central trend monitoring, specific surveys of demand as well as innovative impulses for a low-cost and efficient occupational training policy.
The individual elements were not just designed for the 46,000 employees of the 180 partners of ACstyria, but rather also for some 740 automotive businesses and automotive service providers that are not yet affiliated to ACstyria. Broken down into three sector-specific areas (automotive technology, business and periphery) as well as into three “training levels“ (basic, medium and premium), all AAS courses are completed with a certification that is based on international quality criteria.
A recent ACstyria questionnaire of 106 companies showed that the future requirement of development for semi-skilled employees amounts to up to 50% and with specialist workers and bosses to up to 90%. AAS meets this significant and real demand through an increased production strategy that can be precisely met by customer requirements.
